Voltage Transformer

Voltage Transformer Panels are also sometimes needed when it is impossible to connect the Cable (Circuit) or the Busbars to Voltage Transformers located in other panels in the switchboard. An additional panel is required to support the VT and its housing when special requirements for Metering and Protection are necessary.

Voltage transformers with silica-filled epoxy resin encapsulated primary windings are available as either fixed or withdrawable units which can be connected to either the circuit or to the busbars. The voltage transformers comply with IEC186, BS7625 and BS7729 or AS1243.

The fixed voltage transformers are in sets of single phase units.

The horizontally withdrawable voltage transformers are available in single or three phase, with 3 or 5 limbs (refer Technical Specifications, page 13). They have padlocking facilities in both the service and isolated positions.

Removable cartridge fuses are provided to protect the primary windings on the voltage transformers and secondaries are wired through HRC fuses.
